さて2014年のアプリケーション開発の動向を考えてみましょう。

アプリケーションはオンライン配信の時代へ
昨年、Windows 8がリリースされ、Windows Storeも本格的に離陸しました。
これでAppleのiTunes Store、GoogleのGoogle Play、MicrosoftのWindows Storeと3社のオンライン配信サービスが出揃いました。
これを受けてアプリケーションソフトウェアも店頭でパッケージ販売するスタイルは減り、オンラインでアプリを提供していく形態がより増加していくでしょう。
Online distribution become mainstream.
Last year,Microsoft released Windows 8 and Windows Store and three online distribution services,iTunes(Apple),Google Play(Google),and Windows Store(Microsoft) were all out.
I think online distribution is increasing and selling package software on shop is decreasing this year.
そして、アプリを広める為にはマルチプラットフォームのスキルが必要となる
現在、タブレット・スマートフォン市場ではiOS/Androidがシェアを二分し、PC市場では依然Windowsが圧倒的なシェアを持っています。その為、これまでの様にWindowsにさえ(あるいはWindowsとMacにさえ)対応していれば、大多数のユーザーにアプリを提供できた幸せな時代は終わりを告げ、最低でもiOS/Android/Windowsの3つの環境には対応するスキルを持っていることが開発者には求められるでしょう。
And it is necessary to cross-platform developing skills for propagating applications to world.
Now,iOS and Android have equivalent share on tablet and smartphone market and Windows has a overwhelming share on pc market.
Application developers should have only Windows developing skills(or Windows and Mac developing skills) before,but they must have iOS,Android and Windows developing skills at least now.
さらにPCからタブレット・スマートフォンへの流れが加速
タブレット・スマートフォンはPCより小型・軽量で取り回しがしやすく、またカメラ、GPS、地図、加速度センサ、近接センサー等の周辺機器との連動も優れています。
またiOSやAndroidもバージョンが上がるごとに顔認識等を簡単にできるライブラリが追加され、こういった高度な機能をより簡単に使用できるようになってきています。
今後はこれらの機能を生かした、より高度なアプリの開発を競うようになり、アプリの主戦場はPCからタブレット・スマートフォンへと移るでしょう。
また、タブレット・スマートフォンではPCに比べてアプリが使用できるリソースが限られる為、ビジネスロジックはWEBサービスに集約し、アプリ + WEBサービスの形態が主流になっていくでしょう。
(ただしネットワークがオフラインだと使用できないというアプリでは不便なので、オフラインでも動く工夫は必要ですね）
Tablet and smartphone become mainstream.
Table and smartphone are more small and light than pc ant there are easy to use and interlocking between there and peripheral devices,camera,gps,map, acceleration sensor,proximity sensor are superior.And iOS and Android served libraries to use facial recognition easily when there were updated.
I think application developers will compete for developing more advanced applications on their devices and libraries and many business logic will be served on web services because hardware resource of tablet and smartphone are less than pc.
そしてスクラッチ開発は終焉へ？
業務用アプリ開発においてスクラッチ開発は減少していく流れが加速するでしょう。
スクラッチ開発は一見、そのユーザーにフィットしたアプリが開発できるように思えますが、実際には予算の制約から十分に機能を実装できないでいるのが現状です。
パッケージアプリであれば複数のユーザーから開発費用を回収できる為、スクラッチ開発よりも原価率を上げ、より多くの予算を投入し、スクラッチ開発したアプリよりも多くの機能を実装することが可能です。
この認識はユーザー企業側にも広がりつつあり、パッケージアプリに業務を合わせて利用するという流れができてくるのではないでしょうか。
また同時にエンジニアのライフスタイルも、納期に追われ慌ただしく徹夜、休日出勤を繰り返して開発を行うスタイルから、じっくりと腰を据えて、世の中を変えるアプリケーションを考え開発を行うスタイルへと変えることもできるでしょう。
Getting out of the scratch development
In Japan,scratch development was mainstream of applications for business use before,and I think scratch development will decrease from now.
Scratch development seems to be perfect fit for customer,but in actuality scratch development makes poor applications by tight budget.
Packaged software development will make rich applications because it is possible to collect many development cost from many customers.
This understanding is spreading to customers,and customers will use packaged applications and combine it's business with packaged applications.
And this understanding will change Engineer's work method into thinking applications idea to change the world carefully and developing from working busily on all night and holiday.
